Pocket Travel
v0.10.2 · Self-hosted · MIT
The plan and the record, one page per trip.
Pocket Travel puts a trip's days, places, stays, transport, budget, checklists and journal in one place on your own server. Drag ideas onto days, see the weather for each one, and compare what you planned to spend with what you actually spent.
- Included in Pocket Box
- Sign in with Pocket Core
- Works with Pocket Money and Dawarich and Immich and OpenStreetMap

Overview
Where you are, what is next.
A running trip opens on the day you are on, where you are staying, today's weather and what comes next, beside the budget so far and how much of the plan is done.

Map
Every place on one map.
Places numbered in itinerary order, your stays and your transport legs, each a layer you can switch on and off. Discover nearby lists points of interest around any spot.
- Place search with OpenStreetMap, descriptions from Wikipedia
- With Dawarich: the recorded route and the stops it detected
- With Immich: geotagged photos on the map

Budget
Money that is real.
Stays and transport add their price as a planned cost. Expenses you tag in Pocket Money show up as spent, so you see planned against spent per category and per day, and what is left.
- Any currency, converted at the day's rate without an API key
- Burn rate per day and the remaining budget
- Synced expenses are marked in the list

Places
Ideas, bookings and visits.
Every place has a category, day, time, address, price and status, from idea to planned, booked and visited. Show them as cards or a table and filter by category or status.
- Photos from Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons, with credit kept
- Ratings, booking references and notes per place
- Paste a Google or Apple Maps link to set the location

And the rest of it
Checklists and a journal
Packing lists from templates for beach, city, hiking or winter, a to-do list for before you leave, and journal entries with a mood from everyone on the trip.
Optional AI help
With an OpenAI-compatible key: suggest places, plan the days, describe a place, write a packing list or a recap. Nothing runs unless you press the button.
Calendar and exports
Subscribe to the trip in any calendar app, export GPX or JSON, import from AdventureLog, and duplicate last year's trip with shifted dates.
Shared with your companions
Add the people you travel with as owner, editor or viewer. Every account has its own trips and sees someone else's only when the owner adds them.
Install
One container, one volume.
Pocket Travel is a single binary with one SQLite file. Weather, maps, place search and exchange rates use free public services, so nothing needs an API key. Start it, open the page and create your account.
On a Pocket Box it is already installed, and it finds Pocket Money through Pocket Core without a token.
