Pocket Learn
v0.2.1 · Self-hosted · MIT
Learn anything, and keep it.
Pocket Learn is spaced-repetition flashcards on your own server. The FSRS scheduler shows each card just before you would forget it, so a few minutes a day are enough to remember things for years. Bring your Anki decks along with their progress, or write new cards in four kinds.
- Included in Pocket Box
- Sign in with Pocket Core
- Works with Anki and Quizlet

Today
Everything due, in one place.
See how many cards are waiting across your decks and about how long they will take, then start with one click. The next days and the last twelve weeks sit beside your decks, with your streak.

Study
Made for the keyboard and the phone.
Show the answer, then pick Again, Hard, Good or Easy; each button says when the card comes back. Type-the-answer cards check what you typed against the answer before you grade it.
- Space, 1 to 4, z to undo and e to edit on the keyboard
- Big buttons on the phone, with a study timer in the top bar
- Bury a card until tomorrow, set it aside or ask the AI to explain it

Cards
Four kinds of card.
Question and answer, both ways, fill the gap and type the answer. A live preview shows each card as you write it, and pictures or sounds can be pasted or dropped straight into a card.
- One card per gap, with optional hints
- Import Anki packages with pictures, sounds and progress
- Or rows from Quizlet and spreadsheets, with a column preview

Statistics
How much you really remember.
See the share of reviews you remembered against what you aim for, the reviews coming up, a year of studying, where your cards stand and the time of day you remember best.
- Retention for young and well-known cards
- Choose how sure to be, 90 % by default
- The cards you forget most, so you can rewrite them

And the rest of it
Cards written by AI
Paste a text, or pick a note from Pocket Notes or highlights from Pocket Reader and Pocket Library, and the AI writes one-fact cards. You pick and fix the ones to keep.
Study sessions, timed
Every run on the study screen is a session with its deck, cards and length. With Pocket Time connected, the study timer is your one timer there.
Reminders
A nudge when cards are due, an evening reminder before a streak ends and a weekly report through Apprise, ntfy or a webhook.
Everyone their own
Each person has their own decks, cards, settings and connections. Admins see no one else's.
Install
One container, one volume.
Pocket Learn is a single Go binary with a SQLite file. Open it, create the first account and add your first card or import a deck. With Pocket Core, people sign in once and their notes and highlights can become cards with nothing to paste.
On a Pocket Box it is already installed and signed in through Pocket Core.
